If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

A Shrine to Better Times

It's vital to acknowledge the good times...Being the holiday it was meant to be, we spent last Christmas with family in Little Rock, Arkansas. Away from the alarmists who say that Christmas is being destroyed, we were able to tour the Clinton Library, and witnessed the many holiday themes that brought grace to the White House residence. The Clinton Library was a fascinating place to wander around and stir up memories of a less depressing era...everything there cries out for hope. The place is a harbinger of better times. I could spend a whole day there, if not more.

One of the displays we came across was the following letter
sent by Whoopi Goldberg...

Labor Day 1993

The reflection from the passing pavement of the interstate
hits my eyes from the plate surfaces of embedded crystals
until the bits and sparks begin to turn to red confetti
darting and swept up by the wind.

Whoopi Goldberg with orbits averted forward to the road
nose slightly above the wheel
eyes squarely over a mouth smiling
she's joy driving a station wagon
pulling a trailer upon which clings a labor day float
glittering crimson and silver paper
pieces of light flying everywhere.

Leaving a trail in her wake through all the mileposts
particles here and there an essence of her being
all a witness to her carriage there.
